An Independent Review of the Economics of Climate Change

One of the Agulhas’ Directors, Catherine Cameron was invited to be a senior economic analyst on the team led by Sir Nicholas Stern.

Based in the Treasury, the review transformed international understanding of the challenge, impacts and costs of climate change. It delivered a strong message on the need for international collective action to address this problem before it is too late.

More specifically, the review warns that ignoring climate change could reduce global GDP by 20% by the end of the century, and that to avoid this risk the world should spend 1% of global GDP a year, starting immediately.
