Agulhas has supported the development of a clean cooking position paper for the OPEC Fund. The paper serves as both an external knowledge product and a positioning paper for the continuing development of the Fund’s clean cooking portfolio.
The position paper has been informed by literature review of published academic and grey literature identifying the nature and scale of the clean cooking challenge; the main stakeholders working on the issues; and lessons on what works in promoting clean cooking to achieve universal success. The review focused in particular on approaches to scaling up promising solutions, with a focus on successful business and financing models, including carbon finance.
The Literature review has been supplemented by consultations with external experts. The team also undertook a review of OPEC Funds documents on clean cooking, including programming documents and interviews with the fund’s staff.
