Managing results in conflict-affected and fragile states: A stock-take of lessons, experience and practice

This is a stock-take of current DFID practices and lessons learned on managing for results in situations of conflict and fragility. It was commissioned in order to inform the preparation of new operational guidance for DFID staff.

It involved a literature review, consultations with key DFID stakeholders, a review of current practices in six country offices (Afghanistan, Burma, DRC, Nepal, Somalia and Yemen) and a sample of 36 projects nominated by those offices.

It takes a broad view of the results management process, looking at the corporate, country and project levels, and how they relate to each other.
