Mavis has over 20 years experience as a development consultant, specialising in investment climate reform and private sector development, programme design, management and monitoring. She was part of the team that designed Ghana’s Medium-Term Strategy for Private Sector Development; an ambitious program of policy and reform initiatives to improve the investment climate and eliminate the key barriers to doing business.  She has provided technical support to donor agencies in designing and implementing programmes to strengthen market functions and value chains, enterprise development, and innovation, including; the World Bank; IFC; DFID; DANIDA; GIZ.  Prior to entering into full-time consulting she worked with the International Finance Corporation, promoting the development and growth of enterprises in Ghana and Nigeria.

Mavis has extensive experience of aid management and coordination and has reviewed aid effectiveness commitments with Government and development partners in Ghana and Liberia. She recently undertook a country study of the changing development finance landscape, and what countries must do to maximize development opportunities and outcomes in order to ensure inclusive growth and transformation.

Mavis holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with First Class Honours from the University of Ghana.
