Director

Catherine co-founded Agulhas in 2003, building a respected provider of high-quality knowledge services providing incisive advice and support to clients from around the
world. Catherine serves as the Chair of the Agulhas Board of Directors and has formerly held the position of Chair on the Board of Trustees. She has over 35 years of experience working across a breadth of organisations with a particular focus on having a pragmatic governance structure in place. She uses her expertise to enable companies to become more sustainable, resilient, diverse and profitable and has worked in both the commercial and not for profit sectors.

At Agulhas she champions the work of the Unlearning Team, promoting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion across Agulhas and its work. She supports the Agulhas Climate Hub, working to enhance climate action for a just transition. She is a Commissioner on the Essex Climate Action Commission, an independent body advising on tackling the climate challenge and delivering NetZero. From an initial £5m investment there is now a £200m county-wide plan in progress.


Key work skills

As a governance expert and experienced board member, Catherine brings a personable approach to delivering a structure that works both legally and practically. She also has a breadth of experience in oversight roles, including in terms of growth opportunities, finance, risk and strategy.

Other interests

Catherine is London Scottish, mother of two lovely children, a keen chorister, aspiring yogi and a slave to her cats. She would like to spend more time at the ceilidh.
