Giulia di Porcia

Fellow

Giulia was one of Agulhas’ first employees and re-joined in 2025 as a Fellow. She has nine years’ experience managing and evaluating aid programmes for UN agencies, and donors, largely in humanitarian contexts. Thematically, she specializes in health in emergencies with a focus on GBV and Safeguarding. In WHO HQ, she supported safeguarding in Level-3 emergencies, conducting risk assessments, developing tools and building capacity. In Mozambique, she served as inter-agency humanitarian cluster coordinator. In Sudan, she led the Government’s first nationwide GBV assessment, and the World Bank’s third party monitoring of the COVID response. Giulia holds a MSc in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Relations from Università degli Studi Roma Tre.


Key work skills

Giulia’s has keen analytical skills and is experienced in qualitative research methods: translating complex evidence into concise, actionable guidance for decision-makers; experienced trainer and facilitator; UN inter-agency coordination; language skills (English, French, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish; currently learning Arabic).

Other interests

When it rains, Giulia thinks that somewhere, it is snowing in the mountains. She skis and teaches skiing as a qualified monitrice, and she hikes in summer. She is also a serial language learner.
