Conflict and fragility

Agulhas has deep knowledge of working with partners on peacebuilding, conflict and post-conflict reconstruction. This includes experience of evaluating conflict and fragility programming and designing robust accountability mechanisms for clients engaged in this area. Our recent work includes ICAI reviews of UK’s support to Ukraine and Afghanistan, and of the UK’s approach to peacebuilding. Agulhas has reviewed the UK’s implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda in Nigeria, Afghanistan, Colombia and Ukraine. We analysed the gendered impacts of conflict and crises as part of the African Development Bank & UNECA Gender Index, led on the drafting of AfDB’s Strategy for Addressing Fragility and Building Resilience in Africa 2022 – 2026, and prepared the AfDB’s inaugural report on fragility and resilience in Africa. For The Elders, Agulhas prepared a review of current proposals for strengthening the international peace and security architecture.
