Humanitarian effectiveness

Agulhas is committed to strengthening multilateral cooperation on global crisis. We have undertaken organisational assessments for the Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN) of several multilateral agencies working in this space, including UNOCHA, UNHCR, IOM and WFP.  We have also drafted analyses on the challenges of multilateralism in a turbulent global context, for The Elders, and in implementing the international humanitarian reform agenda, for MOPAN. For ICAI, we have reviewed UK humanitarian aid in Afghanistan, Ukraine and the Gaza conflict, as well as the UK’s humanitarian response to COVID-19. Our approach has a strong emphasis on political economy analysis (PEA) and understanding complex institutional dynamics, allowing us to build a nuanced understanding of our clients’ needs and priorities.
