Digital & AI Integration Lead

Evangelia leads Agulhas’ efforts to integrate AI and advanced digital tools responsibly and meaningfully into its projects and operations. She works closely with Agulhas colleagues, partners, and clients to:

  • Institute workflows that leverage generative AI, data visualisation, and automation to enhance productivity and thinking.
  • Enhance AI/digital skills and literacy.
  • Develop policies that reflect Agulhas’ values, address project needs, and align with client priorities.

A social scientist by training and MEL expert by experience, Evangelia has a long-standing interest in digitally enabled, distributed collaboration rooted in her PhD thesis, which explored how open-source software developers collaborate. She remains fascinated by research methodologies and innovative ways of presenting evidence. She holds a PhD and MSc in new media from the London School of Economics and Political Science.


Key Work Skills

Evangelia brings seventeen years of experience in critical and applied research and MEL in international development. Her core expertise lies in digital transformation and the impact of digital platforms on human development, mixed-methods research, data visualisation, and designing MEL systems that support learning and adaptive management. She has led and contributed to projects focusing on climate change and biodiversity, poverty reduction, health and SRHR, gender-based violence, youth voice, inclusive governance, and open data.

Other Interests

Outside of work, Evangelia enjoys long walks in cool weather, science fiction, and the occasional yoga class. She is kept honest by her teenage daughter.
