As the world gets more interconnected, we face complex, interlocking challenges. A growing share of international aid goes towards these global challenges – from responding to conflict and humanitarian crises, dealing with terrorism, corruption and organised crime. The Agulhas Conflict, Crises and Global Challenge (CRUNCH) Hub was established to provide a strategic perspective on these new challenges. We offer our clients evaluation, learning and knowledge management services, to support policy and strategy development.

We have over 20 years’ experiencing responding to conflict and crises, advising on rebuilding states and societies after violent conflict, building institutions to tackle injustice and insecurity and understanding rapidly evolving challenges in areas such as irregular migration, modern slavery and disrupting illicit markets. We offer expertise on the political economy of institutional development at national level, on the complex interactions between international and local actors, and on the international architecture for development finance and humanitarian response as well as advising clients on development effectiveness in challenging environments. Central to our approach is our commitment to the localisation agenda, safeguarding and ethics as well as gender and social inclusion.
