In 2007 M&S launched its Plan A which was made of five pillars: reduce climate change, reduce waste, use sustainable raw materials, trade ethically and help customers to lead healthier lifestyles. The plan was refreshed and extended in 2011 following a mid-term review. The plan evolved with new commitments to achieve by 2015, with the ultimate goal of becoming the world’s most sustainable major retailer.
