Shona Warren

Technical Manager

Shona is a Technical Manager at Agulhas, with over 5 years’ experience providing managerial and technical support to a range of research, evaluation and policy projects in the areas of climate, migration, multilateralism, and humanitarian responses.  Shona has experience in the management and delivery of research and evaluation projects for clients including the Independent Commission for Aid Impact, BEIS, DFAT, the OECD, multilateral development banks, the World Resources Institute, and the Clean Air Foundation. An experienced researcher and part of Agulhas’s Climate Hub and CRUNCH Hubs,

Shona has undertaken field research in South Sudan, Moldova, and Indonesia. Shona began her career as a project officer in Nepal, where she worked with a national NGO to deliver women’s health and livelihoods programmes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Politics and French), and a Master of International Relations from the University of Melbourne, where she specialised in the human security impacts of climate change. Shona is part of the Leadership Team of Women in International Security UK, which champions greater representation for women in the international security and development sector.

Key work skills

Shona’s areas of interest include migration, conflict and displacement, human rights and climate change. Shona has academic research experience focusing on the human security impacts of climate change.

Other interests

Outside of work, Shona loves cooking elaborate and time-consuming meals for friends, reading, and swimming.
