[fusion_text]Come Friday 20th September, our busy canal-side London headquarters will close for the day as we join millions of young people, professionals and other concerned citizens in the Global Strike for Climate. While previous school strikes have always been welcoming of adult allies, this Friday marks the first time the youth of the #FridaysForFuture movement have officially called on adults to join them in striking for decisive, multi-lateral action on climate change.
The political aim of the strike is clear – to send a message on the urgency of climate while demonstrating the breadth of the popular backing of the climate movement.
The Climate Hub’s collective experience of over 20 years of working on climate change has led us to step outside the office. Like many scientists and other companies, we are joining the campaigning and protests, as we witness the collective failure to adequately address the challenge. We support the call to action to back the future of the planet and a society where we are all afforded the right to life in dignity, health and justice.
With the recent Global Commission on Adaption raising the alarm over our collective unpreparedness on the effects of the climate crisis, it is more important than ever that as many of us as possible take part in this strike to amplify the young people’s voice on this matter. As concerned citizens and human beings with younger loved ones that will have to live with the consequences of our inaction, it is our responsibility to demand a better future for all, everywhere.
