Tom provides insight and analysis for Agulhas across a range of projects as a Junior Fellow. Bringing effective quantitative and qualitative skills to the role, Tom ensures that Agulhas’ work is informed by the latest discourse and discussion, is statistically rigorous and is relevant to a arrange of audiences. He is currently working as an analyst delivering support to the UK’s Independent Commission for Aid Impact.
Working in various roles within the international development sector over the past five years, Tom has experienced a wide range of operational environments from NGOs and think tanks to international agencies and the private sector. He holds a Masters in International Development from the London School of Economics. Tom’s country experience includes Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Cambodia, Laos and Georgia.
Focusing primarily on research and assessments, Tom has worked for various clients including the Gates Foundation, World Bank, AusAid, ASEAN, AFD and GIZ. Much of this work took place in Myanmar where Tom spent significant time helping to establish a new development consultancy and conducting pioneering research and evaluations as the country began its democratic transition after 2011.
